Narrative's popularity amongst developers
This chart shows the amount of games released over the years with the Narrative tag and the percentage of games released on Steam they account for. The number of releases gives a sense of the amount of games published each year. It often increases, following the total amount of Steam games released.
The percentage, on the other hand, gives a better idea of the trend a tag follows. It shows if, in proportion, the Narrative tag is getting more or less popular from a developer's perspective. The Review chart will tell us if this trend is a good thing (i.e. players interest is increasing, tag is undercrowded) or if it's the opposite.
The Narrative tag has peaked in 2022, with 63 games released. The tag's popularity is in a range between 0.0039% in 2015 and 0.05% in 2023.
Keep in mind that the current year is not over, so the number of games released will still increase. But the percentage is usually a good estimate.
Narrative's popularity amongst players
This chart shows the reviews for games with the Narrative tag, either as count and as a percentage of all Steam reviews, and the average value for a game. If the graph is hard to read, you can deactivate the review count and % of the average lines by clicking on the legend.
While the review count clearly quantifies the reviews a tag receives, keep in mind that it also follows the popularity of Steam itself. The value normalized as a percentage of all Steam reviews is often more revealing, as it gives you the popularity trend for Narrative tag games.
A standard game associated with this tag received on average between 21 (2010) and 1870 (2014) reviews. Keep in mind that it is the average and not the median, meaning it is heavily influenced by extreme values, like a very successful game with this tag.
The reviews per game as a percentage of the average show that games in the Narrative tag received between 58% (2010) and 302% (2016) reviews compared to other tags.
Price of games tagged with Narrative
This chart displays the evolution of the Narrative tag's games price in USD over time, as well as the percentage of free games in this tag. Bear in mind that there is inflation over time, which means that a price should slowly increase just to keep the same value.
The median game price was at its lowest in 2020 at 6.99$, and peaked in 2022 at 14.99$. The free to play ratio peaked in 2018 at 17%, and bottomed in 2022 at 3%.
Positive reviews ratio for Narrative, per language
This graph shows an aggregated Steam rating for the whole Narrative tag, separated by language. It helps estimate how different audiences judge a game with this tag. A lower rating doesn't always mean that the audience doesn't enjoy that particular tag, as some cultures tend to always give lower scores. But it will affect a game's rating nonetheless.
The highest rating for Narrative is 97% for the Vietnamese language, and the lowest is 85% for the Japanese language.
